Chamonix Guest Lodge was designed with your ultimate comfort in mind. Enjoy a private dinner in the cosy wine cellar or relax with a cocktail in the thatched outdoor pub overlooking the Koi pond. Refreshments are available throughout the day in the informal lounge, featuring a fireplace for cold winter days.

The landscaped garden boasts a great variety of flora and fauna as well as an attractive rock pool. Marvel at many indigenous art pieces, exhibited throughout the lodge. All rooms are individually decorated and radiate a calm ambience. Managed by its owners, the true character of the Chamonix are personalized service and attention to detail.

Cancellation

If cancelled up to 28 days before date of arrival, 25 percent of all nights will be charged.

If cancelled up to 21 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.

If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, 75 percent of the first night will be charged.

If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and extra beds

Children older than 12 years are welcome.

There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.

Deposit

50 percent of the total amount will be charged at least 21 days prior to arrival and is refundable.

75 percent of the total amount will be charged at least 14 days prior to arrival and is refundable.

The total price of the reservation will be charged at least 7 days prior to arrival and is non-refundable.

Pets are not allowed.

Food & beverage

Next to a comprehensive bar- and wine list, Chamonix Guest Lodge features an extensive breakfast menu and, during low season, a set dinner menu. Enjoy, on warm summer days, breakfast on the patio. During high season, guests can make use of a shuttle service to a number of restaurants in the area.

Room information

All rooms are luxuriously decorated and feature numerous state-of-the-art amenities. Soft wool carpets with under floor heating, ceiling fans and built-in wardrobes are standard features. Named after grape varieties grown in South Africa, all rooms provide guests with a comfortable retreat after a busy day.

Area information

Set in the country side, yet still close to the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, Chamonix Guest Lodge has easy access to all motorways. Visit one of the many tourist attractions nearby, including Rietvlei Nature Reserve and 2 of Africa’s biggest shopping centres – the East Rand Mall and Eastgate Shopping Centre.

Airport transfers are charged at ZAR 100 per transfer for a maximum of 2 persons.

The owner has done a nice job with the rooms - they are very cozy. He also saved us from an outrageous cab fare. The owner will pick you up, he is only 5 minutes from the airport. However, you must call after you arrive. We did not have a cell phone so we opted for a cab. MAKE SURE you get a taxi at the designated area or you may be in danger!!

It was cold while we were in Jo-Burg and the room had in-floor heating, but only in half the room. We were quite chilly for the first few hours until the room warmed up.

We liked all the finishing touches i.e- a few fresh cut flowers in the room, hair dyer in the draw etc. Everything was just right, a really nice room and very friendly host, good breakfast, and close to the airport.

Not a criticism but a suggestion would be that the hotel could have photo copies of a local map, high lighting restaurants, shops, and the airport.

It is very close to the airport and is nicely looked after. The rooms are clean and got floor heating. You can get lift to the nearest restaurants at around 50 ZAR per way which is cheaper than taxi.

The way the owner drives: he picked us at the airport and drove like F1 pilot Michel Schumacher and about 100km/h in small streets!!!! But otherwise, he is a very kind man....

The hotel was very good. Dinner prepared by Felix (the host and owner) should not be missed, it was a highlight of my 2 weeks business trip through various Southern African destinations. It was also a great opportunity to meet interesting people around the dinner table.
