Favourably situated across from Amsterdam’s Central Station, this luxury hotel combines 5-star comfort with stunning architecture, culinary excellence and a prime location.

Uniquely composed of nineteen 17th century houses and a 15th century chapel, the hotel inspires admiration, from its impressive high ceilings to the towering marble pillars. The bright and spacious rooms have been tastefully decorated, boasting a modern entourage and all the expected frills. Fine dining can be enjoyed in the elegant restaurant Vermeer, graced with several international awards.

Such a central location and proximity to the station means that all of Amsterdam’s main attractions can be easily reached by foot or public transport. The oldest quarter in town is directly behind the hotel, combining the Red Light District and Chinatown. Dam Square is a mere 5 minute walk away and the RAI Congress Centre can be reached by tram within 25 minutes.

The NH hotel chain offers modern accommodations and facilities across 19 countries for leisure and business travellers alike.

All conference centres and smaller conference rooms are fitted with air conditioning, ISDN connections and can accommodate anywhere from 6 to 530 people.

The hotel has its own fitness area and sauna, which can be used by guests (charges applicable). Furthermore, the hotel has its own landing-dock for the water taxi to moor. In the lobby you will find our concierge desk where you can find all the information needed to plan a city, business or shopping trip.

Food & beverage

Restaurant Vermeer boasts a Mediterranean cuisine and the atmosphere of the Golden Age. Here you can lunch or dine at top level. The restaurant has been awarded by Michelin and GaultMillau.

Hudson’s Terrace & Restaurant offers an internationally oriented cuisine and an informal atmosphere. On working days, the restaurant opens at 18:30.

Bar Mar-Dique is furnished in a contemporary fashion and opens at 17:30. The bar is widely known for its tapas and delicious cocktails.

The hotel boasts 270 rooms, including a royal suite, 4 junior suites and 12 apartments.

Accommodation is split between the refurbished 17th century buildings and more modern constructions. Many rooms feature an innovative split-level design, whilst rooms in the older buildings feature antique beams and oak ceilings. All are equipped with numerous modern facilities, including a direct line telephone, Wi-Fi internet access, double-glazed windows, air conditioning and cable television.

Area information

Situated in the oldest part of the city, the hotel is within walking distance of numerous attractions.

Canal Tours (0.1km) - Numerous operators offer canal tours leaving from the docking areas along 'Prins Hendrikkade'.

Anne Frank Museum (1.0km) - The former hiding place, where Anne Frank wrote her diary, is now a well-known museum. The museum tells the history of the eight people in hiding and those who helped them during the war. Anne Frank's diary is among the original objects on display.

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam (2.2km) - The richly decorated national museum of the Netherlands, dedicated to arts, crafts and history. Includes paintings by Jacob van Ruysdael, Frans Hals, Johannes Vermeer and Rembrandt.

Dam Square (0.4km) - Famous square with the Dam monument, Royal Palace and Madame Tussauds.

Friendly check-in staff and very good location.

This hotel touts itself as a 5 Star hotel. At best it is a 3 star hotel.
The rooms are very out dated, the beds are barely average and the
bathroom is very old. When returning to the hotel for the evening, the
door key card didn't work and it took several trips down to reception
before finally security staff had to let me into the room. Overall, I
was very disappointed.

A very small yet irritating thing, one of the floodlights directly outside my window would intermittantly turn off and on.

Very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. The bar was very nice.

The fitness center cost an extra 12 Euros to use, and it wasn't even very nice.

The late 5pm checkout on Sunday was great also fantastic location right opposite central station.

The location is excellent for transit passengers, the lobby is welcoming
and the concierge lads are polite and friendly

Not a thing however when we left the hotel I left my navy blue shorts
behind (my fault entirely). If found is there anyway that you could
forward them to Australia at my expense? My email address is

Location to public transportation.

Large convention of young people, who in a large part are unconsiderate,
made the loby very conjested and elevators over loaded at certain times.

it is listed as 5 star my room was OK but bathroom tatty - door damaged and the bath was not cleaned properly

Location - hotel was comfortable although more 4*

We had to more a couple of times as the original room was very hot and we could not get the air con to work properly. Alternative room offered was tiny and therefore rejected. Finally got a room that allowed for the window to be open and air con worked properly - although the room size/bed did not compare with the one originally booked
